Bridgeport, CT: Cari Ann Bulzone, LMFT, has been appointed the new Chief Operating Officer at OPTIMUS Health Care, Inc. Before taking over this position she served as the organization’s Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer for the last three years.
“Our COO needs to be someone who can manage the daily realities of all OPTIMUS operations,” said Karen Daley, CEO. “Cari Ann’s management experience, leadership, and clinical skills make her the right person for the job.”
The COO oversees administrative front office operations for all clinical areas, and collaborates with the Chief Medical, Health & Wellness, and Quality & Transformation Officers to provide patient-focused services and achieve quality outcomes. In the absence of the CEO, the COO has full leadership authority.
Cari-Ann Bulzone began her career in the mental health field in Connecticut, where she supervised daily clinical operations in multiple outpatient program areas. She has led the creation and implementation of many management and clinical initiatives, always with a focus on optimizing performance and achieving measurable results. Her compliance and risk experience make her an ideal fit with OPTIMUS Health Care, a large federally qualified health center network that serves diverse populations in southwest CT with an equally diverse range of primary, behavioral, and specialty care services.
“The exciting part of this is the opportunity to bring my managerial and clinical experience under one roof,” she said. “OPTIMUS has become my professional home. I believe in what we’re doing here. And I’m looking forward to helping us take the next step forward in delivering quality care.”
Bulzone earned her BA in Psychology from Mercy College in New York and her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University here in CT. She has also studied organizational leadership and been selected for industry leadership roles in accreditation and behavioral health.
